This photograph, taken from aboard a vessel in Sandy Hook Bay, shows the front of the original Sandy Hook Marine Laboratory campus. The campus, which operated from 1960 until its destruction by arson in September 1985, was located on Officer's Row in the historic Fort Hancock section of Sandy Hook. The three-story building shown was the anchor of the campus and previously served as an Army hospital.
